In observance of March for Meals, Page County Senior Center held its Cookie Contest last Tuesday. The winning recipe – Chocolate Chip Cookies – was baked by Margie Banach. In addition to her blue ribbon, she received a $35 gift card. Second Place Winner was Debbie Spinner who received a $20 Gift Card and Third place went to Rosie Miller who received a $10 Gift Card. Our Community Champions and judges for this contest were: Amity Moler, Page County Administrator, Board of Supervisors Member Dorothy Pendley and Board of Supervisors Chair Johnny Woodward.

 

Margie Banach’ s Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

Heat Oven to 375 degrees.

Mix together 1 package white cake mix, 1 stick of softened butter, 1 egg, 1 tsp. vanilla and 1 tsp. of water. Stir in 1 cup of mini chocolate chips. Drop by teaspoon on non-stick cookie sheet. Bake for 8-9 minutes until edges turn tan. Cool on foil or rack.
