VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES Without the help of dedicated volunteers, SAAA simply cannot fully accomplish its mission There are a multitude of unique and specialized volunteer opportunities within SAAA’s many programs. SAAA needs volunteers of all ages, talents, and interests! Employees with some time during lunch could help deliver meals to our homebound clients who would just love to meet them!! Mothers of school age children who have some time while their children are in school might help teach a craft or serve a meal at their local senior center. Retirees who have some free time and would like to contribute to their community could drive someone to a doctor’s appointment or to grocery shop. Be sure to scroll down to learn about the Retired Seniors Volunteer Program (RSVP). We are especially interested in youth and teen volunteers, because SAAA believes that nurturing the intergenerational connection between our older neighbors and our youth is one of the most important things we can do!
Volunteers are the lifeblood of our organization! They help in more ways than we can count and we are profoundly grateful to each and every one of them!! RSVP RSVP, Retired Seniors Volunteer Program, is a nationwide program that promotes volunteerism by encouraging seniors to contribute time and talents in service to their communities. RSVP membership is offered to persons age 55 or older. Benefits include some insurance & recognition. From October 2005 through September 2006, RSVP celebrated the service of 363 active volunteers with 72,397 hours of service.
