IN-HOME SERVICES

The Shenandoah Area Agency on Aging (SAAA) provides a variety of in-home services.  These services are all geared toward helping  an older individual remain independent and in their own homes for as long as safely possible. 

These services are provided to qualified individuals and the need for these services must be certified by an SAAA Case Manager (go to case management). 

Clients are charged on a sliding fee scale depending upon income. 

Eligibility Criteria 

  • You must be a resident of Planning District 7 which includes the counties of Clarke, Frederick, Page, Shenandoah, Warren and the City of Winchester

  • You must be homebound with limited mobility

  • Priority is given to individuals with the greatest economic and social need, with preference to low-income persons residing in rural or geographically isolated areas 

In-Home Services provided by the SAAA include:   

        HOMEMAKER – Light housekeeping, help with laundry, dishes. 

        PERSONAL CARE – A Certified Nursing Assistant provides assistance with bathing and other  personal hygiene tasks

        EMERGENCY FUNDS – A one-time payment of up to $200.00 payable to the vendor in case client if facing a financial
        crisis 

        HOME REPAIRS – A small home repair budget assists clients with maintaining a safe home environment.
