DONATIONS TO SAAA The Shenandoah Area Agency on Aging (SAAA) receives a set amount of federal, state, and local jurisdictional funding, but needs continually exceed our limited resources. SAAA supplements their government funding with fundraising. All fundraised and private donation monies are used to expand and enhance SAAA programs. SAAA services save tax dollars by helping people who might end up in a Medicaid bed in a nursing home remain in their homes for as long as safely possible. Research shows that 25% of our senior neighbors and friends suffer from hunger. They may also have physical problems such as severe arthritis or other disabilities, or health problems such as cancer or heart ailments. SAAA’s “Meals on Wheels” program provides the very frailest of our older friends and neighbors with a hot, nutritious meal five days per week. SAAA also provides other in-home services such as homemaker, personal care, and case management. SAAA’s Senior Centers and Community Respite Sites provide safe, secure, and fun-filled environments for our older neighbors to meet with friends, take trips, learn a new craft or skill, or just sit and talk. Your donation will absolutely make a difference in the life of our older neighbors! Please contribute so that SAAA may help our older friends and neighbors remain where they want to be – IN THEIR OWN HOMES AND CONTRIBUTING TO THEIR COMMUNITIES!
